Welcome!

HMS Wolfe portrays a Royal Navy crew during the War of 1812. Through hands-on experiences, we share our passion for the marine history of the Great Lakes.

HMS Wolfe, a 20-gun sloop of war, served in the British naval squadron on Lake Ontario. For a time, she served as the flagship of Commodore Sir James Yeo, carrying out naval operations from Kingston. She was eventually rearmed and rechristened the Montreal, and sold in 1832. A wreck located within Kingston Harbour and known locally as "Guenter's Wreck" has been tentatively identified as the Montreal, although the final identification has not been declared.
